Utah's Carbon-Free, Nuclear-Free chapter is led by the Healthy Environmental ALliance of Utah
Utah's electricity system is currently 93% coal, and Utah has a long legacy of being a target for the nuclear industry: from mining and milling, to waste disposal and weapons testing. HEAL Utah is working for a healthy Utah that is both carbon-free and nuclear-free.
HEAL Utah is assessing the economic and technical feasibility of generating all of Utah's electricity through renewable energy sources in a report called the eUtah Study — A Renewable Energy Roadmap for Utah's Energy Future. The study is expected to be complete in December 2009. See a local news story covering the issue here.
