Idaho's Carbon-Free, Nuclear-Free chapter is led by the Snake River Alliance
The Snake River Alliance has 29 years of experience watchdogging the Department of Energy and an active campaign to develop a sustainable energy future for Idaho. The Snakes are currently fighting a proposed new nuclear power plant in Elmore County.
- Most recently, The Alliance was vindicated when a judge threw out a lawsuit by the nuclear developer claiming the Snakes defamed him by calling him a "scammer."
- That same developer also delayed the hearing about rezoning the land for the proposed plant from February 11 to sometime in April. The land has to be rezoned in order to build the nuke plant on it.
Meanwhile, The Alliance is educating Idahoans how Idaho can meet its energy needs for the coming generation through a combination of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and conservation measures.
